This Thing Called Love

There are times when we are timid and shy about expressing the love we feel. For fear of embarrassing the other person, or yourselves, we hesitate to say the actual words "I love you." So we try to communicate the idea in other words.

We say 'take care' or 'don't drive too fast' or 'be good.' But really, these are just other ways of saying 'I love you,' 'you are important to me,' 'I care what happens to you,' 'I don't want you to get hurt.' We are sometimes very strange people. The only thing we want to say, and the one thing that we should say, is the one thing we don't say. And yet, because the feeling is so real, and the need to say it is so strong, we are driven to use other words and signs to say what we really mean. And many times the meaning never gets communicated at all and the other person is left feeling unloved and unwanted .

Therefore, we have to LISTEN FOR LOVE in the words that people are saying to us. Sometimes the explicit words are necessary, but more often, the manner of saying things is even more important. A joyous insult carries more affection and love within the sentiments which are expressed insincerely .

An impulsive hug says I LOVE YOU even though the words might be saying very different. Any expression of a person's concern for another says I love you. Sometimes the expression is clumsy, sometimes even cruel. Sometimes we must look and listen very intently for the love that contains. But it is often there, beneath the surface. A mother may nag her son constantly about his grades or cleaning his room. The son may hear only the nagging, but if he listens carefully, he will hear the love underneath the nagging. His mother wants him to do well, to be successful. Her concern and love for her son unfortunately emerge in her nagging. But it is love all the sameA daughter comes home late, way past her curfew, and her father confronts her with angry words. The daughter may hear only the anger, but if she listens carefully, she will hear the love under the anger. "I was worried about you," the father is saying. 'Because I care about you and I love you. You are important to me. We say I love you in many ways - with birthday gifts, and little notes, with smiles and sometimes with tears. Sometimes we show our love by just keeping quiet and not saying a word, at other times by speaking out, even brusquely We show our love sometimes by impulsiveness. Many times we have to show our love by forgiving someone who has not listened to the love we have tried to express. The problem is listening for love is that we don't always understand the language of love which the other person is using. A girl may use tears or emotions to say what she wants to say, and her boyfriend may not understand her because he expects her to be talking his language. Thus, we have to force ourselves to really listen for love. The problem with our world is that people rarely listen to each other. They hear the words, but they don't listen to the actions that accompany the words or the expression on the face. Or people listen only for rejection or misunderstanding. They do not see the love that is there just beneath the surface, even if the words are angry. We have to listen for love in those around us. If we listen intently we will discover that we are a lot more loved than we realize.
Listen for love and we will find that the world is a very loving place after all:

LOVE is a happy thing.
It makes us laugh.
It makes us sing.
It makes us sad.
It makes us cry.
It makes us seek the reason why.
It makes us take.
It makes us give.
Above all else, it makes us LIVE.
It is not the presence or absence of people that makes the difference because a person need not be lonely even if he is alone. Sometimes it is good to be alone. But that does not make us lonely. It is not a matter of being present WITH someone. It is a matter of being present to someone.So remember...

If you love someone, tell them. Remember always to say what you mean. Never be afraid to express yourself. Take this opportunity to tell someone what they mean to you. Seize the day and have no regrets. Most importantly, stay close to your friends and family, for they have helped make you the person that you are today and are what it's all about anyway.

On this day of my 2nd wedding anniversary i dedicate this small poem to my wife.

I give you my love
For the harmony you
bring into my life...

I give you my love
For the understanding of my needs
and the many smiles
you have brought to me...

I give you my love
for the joy you bring to my heart
and the many ways you make me feel
with every embrace ...

I give you my love
For the comfort you bring me
and the many treasured times
we have shared...

I give you my love
For the way you are my friend
as well as the many ways you
express your love...

I give you my love
For the many ways that you've
allowed me to be a part of
your life...

It's Office Picnic Time.

This Saturaday we were taken to Shangri-La Water Park A day with colleagues and without work it was a heaven to us! The fact that we were going on a trip, was announced 15 days before the trip and we were, pretty obviously, excited...

    Shangri-La Water Park,which is on the outskrits of Mumbai, to be presice it's 60Km from our office from were we started at about 9:30 am only to reach at 11:30 , a perfect place to end up in the scortching heat.

As far as I know, everybody likes getting wet, except people who are hydrophobic. There was no reason that anybody could have stopped himself/herself form getting into the pools and having fun in the water rides.

A entire day of complete independence, fun, frolic, rain dancing, swimming, enjoying the various water rides, getting our photos clicked or standing under the water fall, be it anything, we did it all…. We enjoyed it in the true spirit and all the credit goes to our office managment thanks to them for a wonderful day out.

Drop In Tempreture

Mumbai Winter, which is raising quite a few eyebrows, It’s suddenly very cold in Mumbai and for once Mr Jackets, Ms Sweaters and Mrs Shawls have stepped out of every Mumbaikar’s cupboard and given them the much needed warmth. I hope this renewed association ( after 1962 !!! ) with Ms Sweaters and Mr Jackets remains and doesn’t become a “once in a blue moon” thing.

But my thoughts go for all the needy people out there, who don’t have or can't afford, enough woolens to keep themselves and their families warm in this weather. I think that's one reason, why Mumbai shields itself from the winter every year, but has let it’s guard down and let the cold wave drop in.

Anyhow…. I am loving this weather and selfishly wish, this kind of weather and temperature touches Mumbai every year, but also considering the poor people I sincerely hope the temperature stays put at 10 C or else life would be unbearable for them.

Without saying much, all I will express is - Mumbai experiencing sudden drop in temperature this winter is thanks to Global Warming. I won't be surprised if we start experiencing extreme temperatures in winter and summer over the years in Mumbai and around the world. Unless we - Save Mumbai. Save Earth.

Mumbai is Mine

This a dedicated to the amazing city AMCHI MUMBAI

A City where every impossible is possible and unbelievable happens..
Where everybody wants to fall in love first and then marry.
Where there is place for every Tom, Dick and Harry
Where telephone bills make a person sick.
Where a person cannot sleep without a sleeping pill.
Where carbon-dioxide is more than oxygen,
Where the road is considered to be a dustbin and is toilet to humans.
Where college canteens are full and classes empty,
Where Adam teasing is also making an entry,
Where a cycle reaches faster than a car,
In some areas all the time pedestrians get there before the vehicle rider.
Where everyone thinks himself to be a bollywood star.
Where sky scrapers overlook the slum,
Where houses collapse as the monsoon comes.
Where people first act and then think,
Where there is more water in the pen than ink,
Where the roads see-saw in monsoon,
Where the beggars are richer then hardworking educated citizens.
Where the roads are leveled when the politicians in power visit city.
Where education of college and hospital admissions mean hard cash on table.
Where cement is frequently mixed with ash.
Where millions move every year for living and love it
You say "town " and expect everyone to know that this means south of Churchgate.
You speak in a dialect of Hindi called 'Mumbaian Hindi', a roughness of which has no parallel in the world.
Your door has more locks then the buttons on your blouse, or zipper grooves on your pant.
Rs. 500 worth of groceries fit on a palm size paper bag.
Train timings (9.27, 10.49 etc) are really important events of life subject of conversation.
You spend more time each month commuting than you spend at home.
You call an 8' x 10' clustered room a Hall.
You're paying Rs 10,000 for a 1 room flat, the size of walk-in closet and you think it's a "steal."
You have the following sets of friend: school friends, college friends, neighborhood friends, office friends and yes, train friends, a species unique only in Bombay.
Cabbies and bus conductors think you are from Mars if you call the roads by their Indian name, they are more familiar with Warden Road, Peddar Road, Altamount Road .
Stock market quotes are the only other thing* besides cricket which you follow passionately.
The first thing that you read in the Times of India is the " Bombay Times" supplement.
You take fashion seriously.
Hookers, beggars and the homeless are invisible.
You compare Bombay to New York 's Manhattan instead of any other cities of India.
The most frequently used part of your car is the horn.
You're suspicious of strangers who are actually nice to you.
You insist on calling CST as VT, and Sahar and Santacruz airports instead of Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport.
You consider eye contact an act of overt aggression.
Your idea of personal space is no one actually standing on your toes.
Being truly alone makes you nervous.
You love wading through knee deep mucky water in the monsoons, and actually call it ''romantic'.
Only in Bombay , you would get Chinese Dosai and Jain(pure vegetarian) chicken. A city of great inventors of food dishes.
The worst criminals of the world prosper there, you live with them, and believe it does not happen to me. Mumbai has been labeled the topmost crime city in the world. Criminals prosper in high, medium and low societies there.
Yet every one is attracted to Mumbai for its glitter of Bollywood and wealthy it can make to enterprising souls faster.
Located in the state of Maharashtra this city is claimed by Indian of every language and state as his own.

One Year.............

So here we were...our first wedding anniversary!!! Awwwww! Can you believe it was a year ago...and what a crazy, amazing year it´s been!!!Tomorrow 19th May is a special day as it's a year since she and me tied the knot.

It feels good being married and I've enjoyed the last year lots. Even though I'm only just getting used to saying "my wife" without it feeling a bit weird.

Its just been a year and we together have experienced many emotions together.. being with her is great but.. i still cant read her mind its been a mystery to me... or should is say it a universal fact that all women are mystery to men. i guess its better this way, more the mystery, more would be the interest and excitement to know her.

I want her to know that I consider myself the luckiest man alive to have her as my wife and that she means everything to me. I want nothing more than to grow old with her and spend the rest of my life with her.

It has been a long time since i have heard the managment say that the office is gonna shift very soon. 8 months have passed, and finally the day has arrived.

I will have to play a major role here, being the system admin. Have to start all the work from scratch. Its gonna be a long weekend for me and the mangement and some selected staff. Rest of the staff is gonna enjoy a long nice weekend, especially those who are not from mumbai, they would have more time to spend with their family and loved once.

Everybody here is gonna miss this place, and all the moments that we have shared here, its been two years that this place has been setup and lots of people have come and left. I hope the new place brings in good luck for the company and newer oppotunities to grow.

Our Sonnet

Dont know how to start with ...so, writing this poem which i read while surfing on net and dedicate it to My better half "D".(would'nt like to disclose her name to those i dont know)
Sweet Lady, song of my heart,
Hold my hand, as this journey we start.
Lift me up in spirit of joy and gladness;
And shield my soul from heartbreak and sadness.
Steadfast, honest and true;
Your partner is here and will forever love you.

It is my prayer that I will always be;
The one who brings you joy and sets your spirit free.
With my love I’ll cover you and warm your soul with mine;
Give you pleasures – like none you will find.
Your Sweet Lady, song of your heart;
Will love you forever, together or apart.

So hear me Sweet Lady, and know in your soul;
That there is no better future than with you to grow old.
Endless caresses, touches and kisses;
Our passion a banner for our love’s true existence.
My hand I extend and my honor I offer;
For being with you my love, there is no greater pleasure.

Your hand I accept, and all your love as well;
My heart sings so loudly, all can tell
I am loved and in love with the man made for me
Hold my hand; let us walk through this life
Being what we were meant to be
Together.
